Monday Motivation

Two important motivational quotes popped up today:

"Light tomorrow with today." - Elizabeth Barrett Browning

My first motivational question for you today is: How many times do you delay beginning a project or a healthy habit because it feels like you would have to move the WHOLE mountain in one day? Healthy habits take time, Rome wasn't build in a day, but that doesn't mean you should back down from the challenge because the mountain seems too large to move, or too steep to climb. Even if you only take one step up the mountain, or move one rock, you are one step closer to your goal. Even if you add one salad to your day, your body will thank you. Don't let the need to be perfect, deter you from making progress towards a goal. Sometimes progress is messy, some days in the gym are easier than others. Sometimes a yoga class can feel like a blissful break from your day, and other times it feels like a steep mountain you have to climb. This is okay, this is normal, this is life. This is part of the journey.

My second motivational question is: What have you done today that your future self will thank you for? If you light tomorrow with today, your tomorrow will always be brighter. Even if you take a tiny step towards something you are passionate about each day you will quickly see your days fill with an abundance of wonderful things. Things that would not have been possible without a daily dedication to small (even tiny steps).

My last motivational question for you this Monday is: What are you going to do about? You don't need a new year to start making change, you don't even need a new day. You need a new intention. What small step are you going to do today to get you closer to your dreams tomorrow?
